Raise A Farmers Fence
Graphic Design | Web Design In February 2017 the Sir Ivan Fire ripped through 55, 000 hectares of agricultural land near my hometown destroying 35 homes, 131 outbuildings, thousands of stock and 5500km of fencing. It was declared a natural disaster on February 14 2017. Fencing played a large part in getting farmers lives back on track. If we could keep the surviving stock in paddocks it gave farmers the opportunity to begin to rebuild their lives and businesses. The length of the new fencing required stretched from Eden to Sydney New South Wales and then to Exmouth in Western Australia. Thus the name 'Raise A Farmers Fence' was born. I worked to put together a website and social media presence to aid in raising awareness and donations for farmers affected by the fire. We kindly asked local community members affected by the fire to generously donate photographs and share their stories online to encourage people to donate and share the message. Sharing these stories and photos of disaster was quite close to my heart making this project one of the toughest I have worked on. You can see the transformation over the past 12 months on the Raise A Farmers Fence Facebook and Instagram and view the website and make a donation. |
